Digital Proof Approval FAQsUpdated 2 hours ago
Your proof is the final checkpoint before printing. We provide a free digital proof for standard product orders and wait for your approval before production begins.
What should I check on my printing proof?
- Spelling, grammar, dates, pricing, phone numbers, email addresses, URLs, and QR codes.
- Finished size, orientation, page count, page order, folds, panels, pockets, and cut shape.
- Image quality, logo placement, margins, bleed, and safe areas.
- Names, addresses, disclaimers, regulatory text, and mailing areas.
Does a digital proof show exact printed color?
A screen proof is best for content and layout, not exact color. Monitors vary, and printed color can differ from RGB displays and from one production method or paper to another. Discuss brand-critical color before printing.
Can REDBiRD make changes to my proof?
Yes. Explain the requested change clearly. Artwork manipulation or design work can incur an additional fee, and new files or revisions can require a new proof and move the production schedule.
How do I approve a proof?
Approve the proof in writing through the method provided by your project contact or order workflow. Production does not begin until approval and other order requirements are complete.
What happens after I approve the proof?
The approved file becomes the production reference and the job enters scheduling. Changes after approval may not be possible or can require stopping work, new charges, a revised proof, and a new completion estimate.
Does printing turnaround start when I order or when I approve?
Production turnaround starts after proof approval, payment, and receipt of complete print-ready materials—not simply when the cart checkout or quote acceptance occurs.
